    Opinions on 2 laptops

I am considering getting a laptop within the next couple of weeks and wanted to see which of these 2 people think is the better deal. These are very similar systems. The main difference is the MSI does not include Optimus but does have a better graphics card, a 2nd hard drive bay, and 4 RAM slots. The Sager has a better screen, fingerprint reader, switch between Intel HD and GT555m for graphics, but only 2 RAM slots and no 2nd hard drive bay.

I hate NVIDIA with a passion. I remeber I use to have to take a blow dryer to the Nvidia chip just so that my screen would display. Millions of people were affected no recall just a law suit. I will stick with ATI Raedon.

I would say it depends on what you are gonna be using the latop for as say games, application, internet, email as they both have good options depending on what
you will be wanting to use it for

2nd because it has a better gpu. Other than that they pretty similiar. You aren't going to use more than 6GB of RAM unless you run tons of Virtual Machines 24/7

It depends on what you're using it for, but personally I'd go with the second one.

If I had to choose, I'd choose none, and buy two laptops worth that price, or a desktop and a laptop.

For ease with Linux, Nvidia is better. Once you get past running 2 monitors on Linux, ATI is more difficult to tweak. Nvidia has a nice interface for X config when running something along the lines of 4+ monitors.

That is tough to debate. That is really a workstation replacement. I considered carrying a 17, but it is so large that I would have to replace my backpack, change my habits of carrying certain items, etc. It just takes up too much room. 15 is good for mobility.

IntelŪ Advanced-N 6230 is a dual-band chipset, so you will get 2.4 and 5GHz, this is the way to go.

Wow, the first is a better deal for the wireless and general use. Second for the graphics. I would rather buy a Dell laptop than those though if it were an option.

Thanks for the opinions, this thread is very old, and I already bought a laptop. I will be closing it.
